Step 0 : Background & Concept

For this piece, I wanted to bring my original character together with the NFTs I personally own. My hope was to create a space where these NFTs could exist freely, without restrictions, and simply enjoy themselves. The idea of blending my own character with the NFTs felt like opening a playful world where ownership becomes more than just holding an asset, it becomes part of the creative story itself.

Step 1 : Initial Sketch

At the end of summer, I envisioned a girl on a skateboard, styled like the cover of a Japanese fashion magazine. I decorated the sketch with an assortment of playful stickers, drawing inspiration from diary decoration (dak-gu) and photocard customization culture. The goal was to capture a carefree and lively atmosphere.

Step 2 : Adding Familiar Faces

To bring more personal meaning into the work, I transformed the NFT fan art I had drawn before into stickers and placed them around the character. This not only filled the scene with familiar elements but also connected the piece to my past creative journey. It was like surrounding the character with fragments of my own artistic history.

Step 3 : Final Composition

Finally, I added a road beneath the skateboard to break away from the plain background, giving the impression that she is riding forward. This detail gave the entire piece a stronger sense of motion and energy. With the sky, clouds, and small details tying everything together, the illustration came alive, a celebration of fun, creativity, and freedom.

Closing Thoughts

Creating this piece was a refreshing experience, it reminded me of how much fun it is to mix my original characters with the NFTs I own. By turning them into stickers and decorating the scene like a magazine cover, I felt free to explore a lighter and more playful side of my art.
This project has motivated me to keep blending my NFT collection with my own ideas, and I’m excited to share more of these colorful stories with you all. Thank you for following along!
