Beyond Price: The Pride of Holders
1, Intro & Background
Today, I want to share something unrelated to my art. I mainly invest in stocks (U.S. & Korea), but it’s been almost 3 years since I entered crypto. As of Aug ’25, crypto makes up about 43% of my portfolio. Since I’m not a full-time investor, I don’t approach it from a trading perspective.
2, My Investment Principles
My investment principles are based on the philosophy of Charlie Munger & Warren Buffett:
1, The concept of the business (project)
2, The team (especially the founder)
3, Backing by reputable venture capital firms
In the past, I could gauge a project’s potential. But my recent experience with AI Agent-related investments taught me to reset these principles entirely.
3, Simplifying My Portfolio
In the words of Buffett: “Invest in the simplest business you can truly understand.” So now, I only hold:
1, BTC, ETH, SOL
2, 3 meme coins (incl. Rune)
3, 3 major NFT projects
These are projects I fully understand and trust, so I don’t get shaken by short-term price swings. Since simplifying my portfolio, my crypto returns have steadily trended upward. By spending less time analyzing individual new projects, I’ve started to see the forest rather than just the trees, gaining a better ability to read broader market trends instead of focusing on a single project.
4, NFTs & Community
Especially with NFTs, I can contribute to a project’s success through fan art and connect with other holders which brings me so much joy. Through a project called
, I truly felt the power of a holder-driven community. This community power will likely have greater longevity than the artist’s capabilities and could even extend into future projects beyond the current one.
5, Team & Community
Ultimately, the success or failure of a project comes down to the team, especially the founder. Examples include Pudgy Penguins and BAYC. Back then, I was also fascinated by BAYC, but in the end, it resulted in negative returns for me, and I had no choice but to sell my entire position. If we begin to doubt their trustworthiness, that project will gradually lose credibility and fade from our collective memory. (Of course, if a new team takes over and brings fresh energy, it could revive and rise again.) While price appreciation of NFTs is important, I believe holder pride carries far greater value. This is the true spirit of Web3, a bridge that helps us grow together.
6, Closing
Thank you for reading this long thread. I sincerely wish all teams and holders nothing but success and happiness as we continue building together.
